Musings and Meanderings Part 1

As I sat upon my well padded throne surveying my vast empire the thought occurred to me that we as a species are not as civilized as we make out to be or try to decieve others into believeing we are.

So, for slaps and giggles I consulted my friend Jeremiah B. Frogg on the subject. Yep, Froggy came a courtin' and was promptly gigged, skinned, dissected and we ate his legs. See what I mean? We only have a VENEER of civilization.

We, the human race, are the ONLY species on this entire planet that sits around and thinks up 'more efficient' ways to kill our fellow human beings. What? you don't believe me? Jeez!

Please allow me to illustrate a very simple and succinct point: At one time all we had were rocks to fight with, then we progressed to pointy sticks and after that is was all downhill to laser guided bombs, and missiles, nuclear warheads, poison gasses, nerve gasses, defoliation chemicals, Sarin, etc and the blood chilling, bone shattering list goes on and on and on and on and...and...and.

I am not a religious man, but I'm pretty sure that God the Creator did NOT indeed put us here for us to screw up so badly. I mean, I'm really hard pressed to remember the last time I watched a giraffe create a weapon of mass destruction.

A ludicrous statement I know, but that just highlights the situation we have created for ourselves, and the very worst part of it are these:

A. Most of the mass destruction is done in the name of God and/or Allah! All that is, is a weak kneed, spineless, cowardly way of saying that "Hi there, I'm your local psychotic and I want to kill you because of your race, religion,____________________(fill in the blank space)

B. We as a species are killing our own planet, our own enviroment, OUR HOME with all of this insanity, and residue left over from our murderous sprees performed in the name of idealism and altruism.

C. As a whole species we have forgotten compassion, kindness, mercy and all the good things that we are supposed to be.

My heart cries at this sad state of affairs and condition the human race has come to.
